The DOW hits 9000 for the first time since, when? I don’t know, but it’s been a while! What I do know is sales continue to look good here in Charlotte. While area sales prices remain in negative territory compared to a year ago, sales are up month to month every month this year and sales prices rose almost 1 full percent from April to May according to the S&P/Case Shiller Home Price Index. This was the second monthly gain in 3 months. Could we be turning the corner?

For one, homes are moving here! There were over 2000 closings recorded in our Charlotte MLS in the month of June. That's over 66 homes sold per day! You don't have to go back too many years to when we were at these levels. We tend to forget that over the past several years, we have been in one booming economy! Now I know we currently have a lot of homes on the market, with a lot of foreclosures, etc, and depending on how you add the numbers, our MLS, Charlotte, the Metro area, etc, there is a lot of inventory out there. But the bottom line is, homes are selling in Charlotte NC! Over 66 a day!
